The team worked in Oslo for three days, right before a critical decision was to be made, to convey to Norwegians the urgent need to increase support for Ukraine in 2025.
Norway is a country that has a unique potential to provide significant assistance to Ukraine without placing extra pressure on its citizens. The visit was full of meetings, roundtables and public speeches aimed at conveying to Norwegians that support for Ukraine is needed more than ever.

We held meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the NATO PA, leaders and members of several parties in the Norwegian parliament, representatives of chambers of commerce and trade unions, including in the energy sector, journalists and think tank experts.

This visit took place at an important period for Ukraine, as Norway is actively discussing the possibility of increasing its financial support to Ukraine to 130 billion norwegian kroner ($12.2 billion). The team explained how important it is that these funds would be spent on rebuilding energy infrastructure, financing humanitarian needs, and investing in weapons in Ukraine.
We also discussed Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which lead to massive blackouts, pose risks to the operation of nuclear power plants, and endanger all of Europe. Norway, as a leader in the energy sector, can assist not only financially but also by supplying additional NASAMS systems and ammunition to protect Ukraine’s skies.
Russia has turned nuclear blackmail into a weapon of war. Every strike on our energy infrastructure poses a threat to nuclear power plants and increases the risk of a nuclear catastrophe.

During the visit, we gave numerous interviews to leading Norwegian media, including Aftenposten, DN.no, and Verdens Gang AS.
Olena Halushka spoke on a podcast on the Norwegian channel Ukrainapodden, where she shared details about Russia’s massive missile strikes on Ukraine and discussed the importance of Norway’s support.
Our partners often explain the limitation of help by “tired of the war” or economic challenges. But we need to understand that it is Ukraine that is currently bearing the brunt of the attack. If our defence capability falls, it will mean opening up new fronts for Russia. Investing in Ukraine is not a cost, but an investment in the security of the whole of Europe

We sincerely thank Norsk-Ukrainsk Venneforening for organizing and providing the opportunity to speak at a large rally near the Norwegian Parliament, dedicated to the 1000th day since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which has now lasted for 10 years. The event gathered around 270 people in the center of Oslo. Victoria Voytsitska made a statement at the stage, calling for further support from the Scandinavian countries.
Today, we hear words of support for the 1000th day of full-scale war, but in reality, the war has been ongoing for 3926 days. From that time, Russia first invaded the territory of Ukraine and occupied our lands. However, we will definitely return everything that was stolen!

Norway has the potential to become a key partner in the “coalition of the determined”. We are grateful for their support and belief in our struggle. This partnership is built on shared values and a mutual desire for a better future.
