ICUV advocacy experts Daria Kaleniuk and Victoria Voytsitska with volunteers Col. Andrii H. ORDYNOVYCH (ret.) and Olena Tregub (NAKO), visited Seoul.

Among the main issues discussed with Korean partners were energy and nuclear safety, preparations for next winter, sanctions against Russia, the seizure of Russian assets, and the reconstruction.

During the visit, our delegation met with representatives of the Korean authorities, NGOs, religious organisations, politicians and journalists.

In particular, Ukrainian experts met with Rev. SeJin Koh of the Seul Union Church, members of the Institute for National Security Strategy, experts from the Korean National Diplomatic Academy MOFA, and former Ambassador to Ukraine Kwon Ki-chang and with other experts.

The Ukrainian experts provided their Korean colleagues with an update on the internal situation in Ukraine, raised awareness of recent Russian attacks on critical energy infrastructure in Ukraine, discussed the impact of Russia’s war in Ukraine on East Asia, and explored prospects for cooperation between South Korea and Ukraine on defence and future reconstruction.

Our delegation also participated in a roundtable discussion at the National Assembly with the Korean Association of International Studies. Participants discussed Russia’s strengthening of its economic ties with North Korea and prospects for cooperation between South Korea and Ukraine.

The visit was organized by ICUV.
