Joseph Wu signed memoranda of cooperation with Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Mykolayiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevich, and on behalf of the Kherson leadership Hanna Hopko, the chairwoman of ANTS – National Interests Advocacy Network, co-founder of the International Centre for Ukrainian Victory.

ANTS thanks Taiwan for the support of our state and communities. In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ANTS will help the residents of Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. The cooperation agreements signed with the mayor of Mykolaiv and Kherson will help communities survive the winter and solve local problems. A total of $1 million will be provided to two regions. Thank you, Taiwan, for supporting Ukraine #WinWithUkraine!

Hanna Hopko was the initiator of the memorandum. In the fall of 2022, the Ukrainian delegation ICUV, represented by Hanna Hopko and Daria Kaleniuk, went to Taiwan and started developing relationships between Ukraine and Taiwan.

As a result, Joseph Wu, Taiwan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, committed to supporting Ukraine with $56 million for recovery.

In addition to financial support, Ukraine receives humanitarian aid and expert assistance for democratic, especially digital, reforms. Both countries have a common experience in resisting authoritarian regimes of aggressor countries, so we are confident that cooperation will be fruitful for the people of Taiwan and Ukraine in the future.
